Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Orpo Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dae Jung Pak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pak misses with an uppercut. Jokinen saw that one coming.
Pak throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pak swings away with a leg kick that misses.

and Jokinen counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Pak looks like he's trying to stand up.

Pak throws a looping overhand right but Jokinen ducks down to avoid it.

Pak lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Pak tries to land a front kick but Jokinen steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Pak is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Pak throws a series of punches but Jokinen avoids them all with ease.

A telegraphed right hand from Pak misses the target.
Jokinen tries to close the distance and clinch but Pak swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jokinen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

It looks like Dae Jung Pak has been cut.
Pak lands a glancing blow to the side of Jokinen's head.
Jokinen moves away from the strike by Pak.

Jokinen slips a jab from Pak.
Jokinen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pak.
Jokinen moves out of range of the body kick from Pak.
Pak throws a push kick but Jokinen slaps the foot to one side.
An inside leg kick lands from Jokinen.

and Jokinen counters with a shoot takedown. Pak fights it but they end up in guard.
Jokinen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pak swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pak wants to get back to his feet but Jokinen passes into half guard.
Pak is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pak tries to roll over but Jokinen keeps him under control.
Pak tries to kick Jokinen off but Jokinen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Jokinen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pak does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jokinen is looking for a kimura but Pak is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jokinen to get the leverage.
Pak is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jokinen wants to free his trapped foot but Pak is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Pak is staying active underneath Jokinen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pak is on top in guard.

Jokinen feints and then cracks Pak's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pak down.

Pak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jokinen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
