Howlett kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Berserker. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Howlett!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Hollywood!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hollywood uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Howlett has time to react.
Hollywood with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hollywood scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Hollywood misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Howlett.

Howlett fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hollywood, pushing him back against the cage.
Hollywood lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Hollywood blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Howlett breaks the clinch.

Hollywood connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Howlett throws out a loose jab but Hollywood uses good head movement to avoid it.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Howlett keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Howlett pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Howlett throws a leg kick which misses Hollywood's front leg but catches the back leg as Hollywood tries to avoid it.
Howlett takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Howlett shoots in looking for a takedown. Hollywood tries to sprawl out of it but Howlett keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hollywood manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Howlett counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Hollywood!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Howlett creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hollywood sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Hollywood is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Howlett with the ground and pound but Hollywood regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Howlett winds up and cracks Hollywood with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Hollywood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Howlett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Howlett thows a huge punch but Hollywood dodges it nicely.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hollywood can do anything to dispel that myth.
Howlett is looking to take a break and control but Hollywood is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Howlett wants to take a breather but Hollywood is having none of it.

Howlett lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Howlett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Howlett throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hollywood stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That was a close round but James Howlett did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
