Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Rad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and IP Freely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rad comes into the arena with Liberation Frequency blaring out of the sound system. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, IP Freely!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freely on the wrong end of a nice hook.
A left and a right from Freely both land. Nice combination.
Rad tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Freely manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rad attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Freely misses with a takedown
and Rad counters with a nice uppercut.
Rad connects with an inside leg kick.
No joy there for Freely, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rad tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Freely counters with a shoot takedown. Rad fights it but they end up in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Freely throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rad works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Freely thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rad working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Freely.
Rad looking to control.
Rad seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Rad is trying to control the position but Freely postures up.
Freely is in close to Rad's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Rad has momentary wrist control but Freely slips an elbow through the middle.
Rad pulls Freely in close to prevent any damage.

Freely working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Rad looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rad controls Freely momentarily but Freely frees himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kyle Rad just wasn't active enough.
Rad lands a head kick. Freely smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rad moves into the clinch.
Rad working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Freely is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Rad is defending well.

Kyle Rad has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of IP Freely.
Freely wants to take the fight to the mat but Rad manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Rad lands a left hand that snaps the head of Freely backwards.
Rad lands a shoulder strike.
Rad prevents a takedown attempt there.
Rad swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Rad missing with knees to the body.
Rad creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Freely's defenses.
Rad pushes Freely back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Freely is working for takedown but Rad is calmly controlling the position for now.
Rad stops a takedown attempt from Freely.
Rad lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Rad is pushing Freely up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Rad lands a nice uppercut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Freely can't get the takedown.
Rad gets underhooks to prevent Freely's takedown attempt.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rad fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Freely.

Rad knocks Freely to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?

Rad is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Freely is trying to escape and Rad transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Freely is forced to tap! Nice work there by Rad! Very nice indeed!
