Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Slopey Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lex Wight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes into the arena with Jawga Boyz - Rollin Like A Redneck blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that Slopey Smith has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Slopey Smith seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Slopey Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lex Wight!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wight wants to clinch up but Smith keeps it at a distance.
Wight looks for a takedown but Smith sprawls well.
Smith throws a looping overhand right but Wight ducks down to avoid it.
Wight closes the distance but Smith moves to the side

and Smith counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Wight!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Smith is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wight has escaped the position, nice work there.
Wight avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Smith.
Smith in side control lands a decent elbow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Smith lands some shots froms side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Smith wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wight, who protects the arm well.
Wight is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
You can see the frustration on Wight's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Smith tries to move into full mount but can't pass Wight's legs.
Smith in side control, throwing shots but Wight defends.
Wight on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Smith in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Wight is not content to let Smith control the position.
Wight is looking to reverse the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wight is trying desperately to improve position.

Smith lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Wight is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Smith misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Wight is in all sorts of trouble here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith lands a big shot there that rocks Wight but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.


Wight is rocked!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Smith cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Wight is still in real trouble! Can Smith finish him?
Smith loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Wight scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Smith land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Smith stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Slopey Smith!
During a confident post fight interview, Slopey Smith thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
