The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Maia.
White lands a nice shot that snaps Maia's head back.

It looks like Bj Maia has been cut.
A slapping leg kick lands for White.
Maia checks a low kick from White.
White scores with a leg kick.
Maia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts White as he jumps to the side.
White moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
White lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maia stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from White.
White scores with a head kick. Maia tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
White connects with an inside leg kick.
A head kick from White lands but Maia takes it in his stride.
Maia misses with a takedown attempt
and White counters with a nice low kick that buckles Maia's knee momentarily.
Freddy White has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bj Maia.
Maia tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Maia looks winded!
White fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Maia has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and White counters with a head kick. That will keep Maia thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

White lands a leg kick that knocks Maia off balance momentarily.
White lands a head kick. Maia smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Maia is rocked!
A slapping leg kick lands for White.
Maia drops his hands momentarily and White needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Maia just on the top of the head. Maia drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Maia - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Freddy White!
After the fight, Freddy White was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
