Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Franklin Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eugene Albright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Franklin Dos Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eugene Albright!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Albright shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Albright was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee asks Albright politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Albright prefers to stall for the moment though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dos Santos is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Albright has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Albright moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Albright has control of an arm but Dos Santos manages to advance to Albright's back!

Albright is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dos Santos gets his way!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Eugene Albright hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Albright fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dos Santos to the ground. Albright is now in Dos Santos's guard.

Eugene Albright has got the better of the ground game so far.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Eugene Albright.

Dos Santos decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Albright has one foot on Dos Santos's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dos Santos goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Albright has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Dos Santos but great work by Albright.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Eugene Albright showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Dos Santos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Albright closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Dos Santos has got his arm under Albright's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Albright has spun round into Dos Santos's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Eugene Albright comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Albright has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
