Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Otis Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Strange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Otis Jenkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Strange!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strange finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Jenkins gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Strange struggles to land a body shot inside as Jenkins controls his hands.
Strange has a couple of punches blocked by Jenkins.
Strange tries for a takedown. No joy.
Jenkins looking for a takedown.
Jenkins wants a takedown but no success here.
Jenkins is trying to drag Strange to the mat but Strange just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Otis Jenkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Strange misses with a punch on the inside.

Strange tries to stall but Jenkins uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Strange working the head and body with strikes.
Strange working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Jenkins's thigh. Jenkins counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Jenkins is looking for a triangle but Strange pushes his legs off easily.
Strange is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Strange slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Strange lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Strange wants to control but Jenkins is keeping him busy.

That's time! Jenkins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Strange is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jenkins is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Strange to the mat. Strange regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Jenkins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Strange has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jenkins has managed to get both his arms back between Strange's legs - danger averted.

Jenkins is controlling Strange's trapped leg to prevent Strange from advancing to side control.

Strange is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Strange is keen to just control but Jenkins is a slippery customer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Otis Jenkins will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Strange is looking to score with low kicks.
A big left from Strange misses.

Jenkins closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Strange jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jenkins walks away with a smile on his face. Strange gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Strange ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jenkins moves away.
Jenkins keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jenkins thows a body shot but no joy.
Jenkins throws a looping overhand right but Strange ducks down to avoid it.

Jenkins feints and as Strange raises his hands in defense, Jenkins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jenkins throws a strike but Strange rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Strange sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jenkins's guard.
Nice strikes from Strange there.
Strange wants to take a breather but Jenkins is having none of it.
Strange is stalling here. Jenkins is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Strange seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jenkins has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Jenkins is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Strange tries to reverse the position but Jenkins maintains control.
Strange wants to hold on but Jenkins pushes him away.
Jenkins lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Strange tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Strange is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Jenkins looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Jenkins working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Strange working to try and regain half guard.
Strange is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Jenkins thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Jenkins can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Strange is looking to escape.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jenkins goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Strange turns into him and now he's in Jenkins's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Otis Jenkins.
I think Jenkins has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Otis Jenkins decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
