Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nopparat Somchaimy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinny Ruggiero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vinny Ruggiero!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruggiero moves in looking to clinch but Somchaimy pushes him off.
Ruggiero tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Somchaimy counters with a thumping low kick.
Ruggiero blocks the body kick.
Ruggiero moves out of range as Somchaimy throws a body kick.
Ruggiero tries to clinch up but Somchaimy circles away and keeps his distance.

Somchaimy drops Ruggiero with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ruggiero looks back up at him and smiles so Somchaimy waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Vinny Ruggiero has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ruggiero wants to clinch up but Somchaimy keeps it at a distance.
Ruggiero moves in looking to clinch but Somchaimy pushes him off.

Ruggiero is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Somchaimy is defending well for now.
Somchaimy is pushing Ruggiero up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
