Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kingsley Nasir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Epping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kingsley Nasir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Epping!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nasir decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Epping wants to sweep but Nasir has passed to side control!
Nasir works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Nasir throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Nasir is looking to take a break and control but Epping is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Epping is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Nasir wants to free his trapped foot but Epping is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Epping is trying to stand up here but Nasir is controlling him well.

Epping is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Nasir is staying active.
Nasir is trying to control. Epping wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Nasir is looking to pass Epping's guard but actually Epping recovers to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nasir slips a straight right by Epping.
Epping pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Epping misses with a hook.

Nasir feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nasir is keen to just control but Epping is a slippery customer.
Epping is trying to stand up here but Nasir is controlling him well.

Nasir seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Epping does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Nasir wants to advance to full mount but Epping doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Nasir fakes the leg kick and cracks Epping in the body.

Nasir shoots for a takedown but Epping saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nasir attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Epping moves out of range as Nasir throws a body kick.
Epping checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Nasir shoots in looking for a takedown. Epping tries to sprawl out of it but Nasir keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Epping manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Epping swats away the attempt to clinch by Nasir.
Good work by Epping as he checks the leg kick.

Epping tries to score with a low kick but Nasir moves his leg out of the way.

Nasir clinches up against the cage.
Epping misses with a punch on the inside.
Epping letting Nasir take a breather here.
Epping fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Epping throws a punch but it's blocked by Nasir.
Epping is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Nasir to keep the fight standing.
Epping wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Nasir has him pressed against the cage.

Epping is trying to break the clinch but Nasir is controlling him.

Epping struggles to land a body shot inside as Nasir controls his hands.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
A head punch on the inside from Epping fails to land.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Nasir takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Epping wants to get back to striking at distance but Nasir won't allow it.

Nasir is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Nasir gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Epping regains guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nasir is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Nasir feints and then cracks Epping's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Epping down.

Epping bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Nasir's head.
Epping has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Nasir.

Nasir lands a nice looking body kick.
Epping will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Nasir pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Nasir has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Nasir wants to lay and pray for a moment but Epping keeps working.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nasir connects with a nice short shot to Epping's temple.
Still in half guard, Nasir seems content to control.
Nasir prevents Epping from improving his position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Epping is not content to let Nasir control the position.

Kingsley Nasir showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nasir, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
