The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Overstreet.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Overstreet.
Overstreet throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A slow jab from Matice misses its intended target.
Matice displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Overstreet throws out the jab.

Matice is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Overstreet's half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Matice shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Overstreet but Overstreet pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A solid leg kick lands there for Overstreet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Overstreet throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Overstreet tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Matice paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Overstreet is looking to slow Matice down with leg kicks.
Matice swings for the body but Overstreet moves out of range.
Overstreet misses with a looping right.
Overstreet moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Matice shoots for a takedown but Overstreet saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raymond Matice. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Overstreet throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Matice tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Overstreet swivels and escapes.

Good leg kick by Overstreet there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Overstreet fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
A punch lands to the side of Matice 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Overstreet lands a leg kick that knocks Matice off balance momentarily.
Overstreet leaves Matice with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A nice leg kick lands there from Overstreet.
Overstreet fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Matice has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Matice walks into a stiff left hand from Overstreet.
Overstreet throws a head kick but Matice moves out of range.
Overstreet scores with a head kick. Matice tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Oh Matice is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Overstreet steps in with a hook that catches Matice right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Overstreet follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Matice looks absolutely devastated.
