PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chick Bowdrie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wallace has chosen Uprising as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowdrie lands a nice leg kick that just misses Wallace's sensitive parts.

Bowdrie's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Wallace connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bowdrie scrambles back to his feet.
Wallace swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wallace moves out of range as Bowdrie throws a body kick.
Wallace throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bowdrie displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wallace throws out the jab.
Chick Bowdrie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wallace ducks under a wild hook from Bowdrie.
Bowdrie lands a nice shot that snaps Wallace's head back.

It looks like William Wallace has been cut.
Wallace uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bowdrie.
Wallace stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bowdrie.
Bowdrie looks to score with a jab to the body but Wallace is just out of range.
Wallace lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bowdrie backs up against the cage.

Wallace shoots in for a takedown but Bowdrie shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Wallace is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bowdrie's half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Chick Bowdrie will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Bowdrie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Wallace pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bowdrie is out of range and Wallace settles back down.
Bowdrie takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Bowdrie avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wallace is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bowdrie sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bowdrie throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wallace stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Wallace fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bowdrie avoids it really well and circles away.
Chick Bowdrie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Wallace.
Wallace walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Bowdrie here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Bowdrie throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Bowdrie cracks Wallace with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Bowdrie throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wallace sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Bowdrie lands a big head kick that sends Wallace tumbling to the mat! Bowdrie takes a step backwards and waves Wallace back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Bowdrie shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Wallace takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Bowdrie sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Wallace bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
