Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Clayton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marek Jebut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clayton's entrance music is Jungle War Drums!. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Clayton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marek Jebut!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clayton throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jebut rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Clayton counters with a nice low kick that buckles Jebut's knee momentarily.
Clayton wants to clinch up but Jebut keeps it at a distance.
Nice jab there from Jebut.
Clayton lands a jab.
Clayton stuffs the takedown attempt from Jebut. Jebut gets slowly back to his feet.
Jebut keeps the fight on the outside.
Clayton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jebut paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Clayton as Jebut shoots in.

and Jebut counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jebut is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Clayton.

Clayton gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jebut to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Jebut tries to pass to full mount but Clayton defends it.

Clayton pushes Jebut off looking to stand but Jebut dives back in and keeps control.

Jebut keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Clayton's head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

John Clayton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jebut shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jebut showed some decent athleticism there.

Jebut thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Clayton's head.

Jebut connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Clayton some visible discomfort.
Clayton wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Jebut scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Clayton to see if he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Marek Jebut showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Clayton takes one to the side of the head.
Clayton's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jebut connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Clayton scrambles back to his feet.
Jebut might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Jebut changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Jebut misses with the combination.
Clayton tries to clinch but Jebut moves out of range.

Nice combo by Jebut! Oh, that's hurt him - Clayton falls to the canvas and Jebut follows him into side control.

Jebut wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Clayton, who protects the arm well.

Jebut moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Clayton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jebut is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jebut escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Clayton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jebut has his foot on Clayton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Clayton works his way back into a safe position though.

Clayton is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Poor strikes thrown by Jebut there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
John Clayton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Marek Jebut comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jebut has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
