Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fyodor Pending (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Shouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Fyodor Pending has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 48 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fyodor Pending!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Shouse !
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shouse tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pending manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Shouse looks to clinch

so Pending counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Pending trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pending won't allow Shouse to sweep him here.
Shouse keeping moving, preventing Pending from controlling successfully.
Shouse is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Shouse shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Pending counters with a shoot takedown. Shouse fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pending trying to control the position from guard on top but Shouse is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pending thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Shouse is trying to control the position but Pending postures up.
Pending won't allow Shouse to sweep him here.
Pending slips nicely into half guard.

Pending is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shouse is just riding it out for now. Pending eventually gives up the hold.
Shouse has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pending is working away from the top position though.

Pending is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Pending seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shouse does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Pending is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shouse defends it well.

Shouse wants to control but Pending is keeping busy.
Pending is pressing down on Shouse 's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shouse is holding on for now.
Shouse is refusing to be controlled, as Pending sits in half guard.

Pending is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Shouse is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Shouse wants to control but Pending is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Pending tries to pass the half guard into mount. Shouse knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Pending works his foot free and advances to mount.
Pending could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Pending is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Shouse can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shouse can do anything to dispel that myth.
Shouse is trying desperately to improve position.

Pending is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Shouse is forced to tap! Great finish!
