Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ipod Apple (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Funk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Funk will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Apple looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
No luck for Funk with that takedown attempt.
Funk shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Apple as he avoids it easily.

Apple clinches.
Funk wants to get back to striking at distance but Apple won't allow it.
Apple lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Funk breaks from the clinch.

Apple gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Apple tries a body shot but Funk blocks it.
Apple missing with knees to the body.
A right handed body shot lands from Funk.
Apple lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Funk.
Apple tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Funk's elbow.
Apple throws a punch but it's blocked by Funk.

Funk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Apple rushes Funk and presses him up against the cage.
Apple misses with a hook to the ribs.
Apple tries to work over Funk's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Funk breaks the clinch.
Apple stuffs the takedown attempt from Funk. Funk gets slowly back to his feet.
Ipod Apple has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Funk.
Apple stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Apple wants it to stay on the feet.

Funk gets a takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Apple tries to roll over but Funk keeps him under control.
Apple on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Apple tries to get out of the position.
Funk seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Apple could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Funk throwing shots but Apple is blocking nicely.
Apple is trying to stand.
Funk sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Apple might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Funk connects with a nice short shot to Apple's temple.

Funk lands strikes from half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Apple tries to kick Funk off but Funk keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Apple on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Funk lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Funk has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Apple defend it? Funk steps over the head and cranks it - Apple is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Funk!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Frank Funk!
A less than humble Frank Funk misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
