PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darren Myles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Sykes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Myles comes to the cage accompanied by Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop. Mike Sykes told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darren Myles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Sykes!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sykes on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Myles stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Myles wants it to stay on the feet.

Myles cracks Sykes with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Myles has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Sykes to stand back up!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sykes throws a half hearted mid kick.
Myles throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sykes.
Myles connects with a single shot there.

Sykes is rocked!
Nice sprawl there from Myles as Sykes shoots in.
Sykes is still on wobbly legs! Can Myles finish him?
Sykes tries a head kick but it misses.
Sykes seems to have recovered his senses.
Sykes gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Myles points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Sykes wakes up just in time to hear Myles thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Darren Myles!
A very excited looking Darren Myles rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
