PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris OSullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pawel Karpinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). OSullivan comes to the cage accompanied by I'm Shipping up to Boston - Dropkick Murphys. Karpinski is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Type O Negative "Christian Woman". Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pawel Karpinski!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OSullivan misses with a few strikes there.
The crowd cheers as OSullivan lands an impressive looking overhand right. Karpinski doesn't seem phased though.

OSullivan gets a double leg takedown into Karpinski's guard.
OSullivan wants to pass the guard but Karpinski is keeping the position.
Karpinski controlling the position.
OSullivan wants to stand and escape but instead Karpinski has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Karpinski takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

OSullivan shoots in and bounces Karpinski off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

OSullivan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Karpinski looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Karpinski can do anything to dispel that myth.

Karpinski closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. OSullivan quickly recovers to half guard.
