PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dallas Devil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Milos Dragan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dragan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Face The Pain - Stemm. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Devil takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Devil walks into a jab.
Devil wants to land a leg kick but Dragan is out of range.
Devil swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dragan takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A big left from Devil misses.
Devil tries to bum rush Dragan with a series of wild strikes but Dragan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Devil throws a chopping leg kick but Dragan manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Dragan listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Devil looks to score with a jab to the body but Dragan is just out of range.
Dragan throws a nice looking combination but Devil bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Devil shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dragan napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dragan tries to bench press Devil off him but Devil keeps the position.
Dragan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Devil asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Devil content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Devil has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Devil misses with a two punch combination.
Dragan slips a straight right by Devil.
Dragan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Devil misses with a low kick.

Devil shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Devil was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Devil decides to stand back up.

Devil darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Dragan has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dallas Devil wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Sloppy strikes from Dragan. Those never looked like landing.
Dragan looks to land a combination but Devil avoids it well.
Dragan misses with the combination.
Dragan swinging wildly here.
Devil moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Devil looks for the body kick but Dragan saw that one coming.
Dragan checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Dragan throws a series of punches but Devil avoids them all with ease.
Devil misses with a hook. Dragan ducked under it nicely.
Dragan tries to move into range but Devil moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Devil throws a front kick aimed at Dragan's knee but Dragan avoids it well.
Dragan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Devil.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Devil.
Devil trying to control the position but Dragan is working away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dragan wants to control but Devil postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dragan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Devil tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dallas Devil dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Dragan lands with a nice body punch.
Devil steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dragan.
Dragan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dragan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dragan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dragan scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
A combination from Dragan does no damage.

Dragan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Devil misses with a wild combination.
Devil checks a low kick from Dragan.

Devil shoots in and gets a takedown into Dragan's guard.

Dragan wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Devil's hips, looking to push off. But Devil grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Dragan screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Dallas Devil!
