Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Panupong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lars Gordon!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Panupong closes the distance and pushes Gordon back into the cage.
Gordon drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gordon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Panupong defends well.
Panupong tries to stand but Gordon is controlling from the bottom.
Gordon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Panupong!
Panupong is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Gordon trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Gordon looking to secure an arm triangle but Panupong defends it well.
Panupong can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gordon misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Panupong keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Gordon looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Gordon is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Panupong can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Panupong really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Gordon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Panupong is looking to escape.

Gordon jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Panupong manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Panupong prevents Gordon from moving into mount.
Gordon tries to score with some ground and pound. Panupong controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Gordon has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Panupong!
Gordon is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Panupong is forced to tap! Great finish!
