Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Ginkel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francesc Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooper is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hey, Listen! . Francesc Cooper will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeff Ginkel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Francesc Cooper!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Cooper gets caught napping as Ginkel dives in and scores a takedown. Cooper manages to retain guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Cooper wants to stand and escape but Ginkel is having none of it.

Ginkel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ginkel wants to pass the guard but Cooper is keeping the position.
Ginkel seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Francesc Cooper.

Cooper gets caught flat footed, as Ginkel shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Cooper wants to stand up but Ginkel is controlling him.
Cooper is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ginkel is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jeff Ginkel wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Ginkel has closed the distance and engaged Cooper in a clinch.

Cooper tries to break free but Ginkel pushes him back against the cage.

Ginkel lands a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ginkel is breathing heavily.
Ginkel loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Cooper is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Cooper throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Ginkel to regain full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cooper is looking to stand up but Ginkel won't let him.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Cooper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Cooper loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ginkel looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jeff Ginkel just wasn't active enough.
Cooper lands a nice looking body shot.

Cooper lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Jeff Ginkel has been cut.
Cooper throws a nice outside leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cooper lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Cooper feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Ginkels jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Ginkel steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Cooper. That one must have hurt.
Ginkel takes one to the side of the head.
Cooper lands with a good body shot.
Cooper lands a head kick!


Ginkel is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cooper dips to his left and cracks Ginkel with an uppercut!
Oh Ginkel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cooper is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Ginkel gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Cooper gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Ginkel is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Francesc Cooper!
Post fight, an emotional Francesc Cooper said 'I would just like to thank the General Manager for arranging this great fight and my friends and family who supported me through preparing for my debut. However I would like an attempt at the title at Saturday Night Remorse if my winning streak persists! '.
