Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cinder Smaug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Kilpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kilpatrick has chosen Parkway Drive - Dark Days as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cinder Smaug!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Kilpatrick!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilpatrick takes a jab right on the kisser.


It looks like Luke Kilpatrick has been cut.
Kilpatrick looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Smaug takes a swing at Kilpatrick's ribcage but misses.

Kilpatrick gets a double leg takedown into Smaug's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smaug is pulling down on Kilpatrick's head to control his posture.
Kilpatrick wants to control from the top but Smaug keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smaug managing to control the position.
Smaug utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Smaug wants to sweep but no luck.

Kilpatrick is looking to work some ground and pound but Smaug has wrist control.
Kilpatrick won't allow Smaug to sweep him here.
Smaug not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Smaug keeping full guard, as Kilpatrick tries to pass.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kilpatrick accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kilpatrick stands up over Smaug, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Smaug lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kilpatrick!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smaug avoids the attempt from Kilpatrick to control.
Kilpatrick is trying to reverse the position but instead Smaug has taken his back - oops!
Kilpatrick breaks Smaug's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Smaug wants to sweep here but Kilpatrick controlling him for the moment.

Kilpatrick passes Smaug's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kilpatrick thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smaug's head.

Smaug is refusing to be controlled, as Kilpatrick sits in half guard.
Smaug manages to get to full guard.
Kilpatrick throwing strikes from guard but Smaug blocks nicely.
Smaug wants to sweep here but Kilpatrick controlling him for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kilpatrick throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Smaug works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Luke Kilpatrick will probably get the nod.

Kilpatrick looks to score with a jab to the body but Smaug is just out of range.

It looks like Cinder Smaug has been cut.
Smaug sizes up Kilpatrick with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Kilpatrick ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Smaug lands a leg kick that knocks Kilpatrick off balance momentarily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smaug slips a jab and a cross from Kilpatrick.
Cinder Smaug seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smaug throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kilpatrick sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Smaug moves out of range as Kilpatrick strikes.
Smaug thows a body shot but no joy.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Smaug.
Smaug misses with a low kick.
Smaug lands a really nice looking cross but Kilpatrick seems unphased.
Kilpatrick wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Smaug connects with the punch.
A jab lands there for Kilpatrick.
Kilpatrick throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A looping hook to the body misses from Smaug. Kilpatrick does a little dance to reset his feet.
A head kick misses from Smaug.
Smaug will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kilpatrick shoots in for a takedown but Smaug shows good takedown defense.

Smaug scores with a spinning back kick!

and Kilpatrick counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Smaug's guard now.
Smaug preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Kilpatrick trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kilpatrick landing some decent shots from guard.
Smaug looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kilpatrick is one step ahead there.
Luke Kilpatrick has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kilpatrick trying to control but Smaug is working from the bottom.
Kilpatrick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smaug swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kilpatrick throws an elbow that misses. Smaug uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kilpatrick's guard. Nice move by Smaug!
Kilpatrick has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Smaug trying to control the position from guard on top but Kilpatrick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smaug slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Kilpatrick wants to sweep here but Smaug controlling him for the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kilpatrick throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Smaug throws a jab but it's blocked by Kilpatrick.
Kilpatrick takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Smaug bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kilpatrick's head backwards.


That has opened up Luke Kilpatrick's cut even more.

Cinder Smaug is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Smaug tries to work over Kilpatrick's front leg with a kick but Kilpatrick checks it.
A big right from Smaug misses.
Jab, jab by Smaug - just one landing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Smaug throws a hook but Kilpatrick blocks it.
Cinder Smaug is winning the standup battle so far.

and Kilpatrick counters with a nice double leg into guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Luke Kilpatrick will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

A left lands for Smaug.
Kilpatrick tries for a takedown but Smaug sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Smaug counters with a nice uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smaug tries to close the distance and clinch but Kilpatrick swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Kilpatrick.

The cut above Luke Kilpatrick's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kilpatrick tries to pull guard but Smaug won't allow it.
Cinder Smaug has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Kilpatrick.

Kilpatrick tries to work over Smaug's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Kilpatrick lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Come on Smaug - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Kilpatrick lands an elbow just above Smaug 's eye.
A bit of stalling here from Smaug.
Kilpatrick throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Smaug blocks it with crossed arms.

Smaug swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Smaug scores with a shot to the side of Kilpatrick's head.

Kilpatrick jumps guard.

Kilpatrick has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Smaug is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kilpatrick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kilpatrick is not content to let Smaug control the position.
Smaug knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kilpatrick on the ground.
Kilpatrick is looking to regain half guard here but Smaug keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kilpatrick tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Smaug presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Smaug wants to control the pace but Kilpatrick is squirming around nicely.

Kilpatrick bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Cinder Smaug has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kilpatrick thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cinder Smaug.
I think Kilpatrick has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
