The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
al Din misses with a right hand
and Sturd counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
al Din tries to work over Sturd's front leg with a kick but Sturd checks it.
Sturd avoids the body shot from al Din.
al Din looks to land a body kick but Sturd moved away.
al Din scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
al Din throws a solid leg kick but Sturd takes the impact on his shin and smiles at al Din.
A telegraphed right hand from al Din misses the target.
Sturd takes a body punch but keeps moving.
al Din looks to score with a jab to the body but Sturd is just out of range.
al Din throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
al Din stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

It looks like Jason Sturd has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
al Din throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Sturd tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
al Din looking to land some kicks to the body here.
al Din connects with a looping right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
al Din pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sturd displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as al Din throws out the jab.
Sturd wants to land a leg kick but al Din is out of range.
al Din wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
al Din tries a low kick but Sturd avoids it.
Sturd uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before al Din has time to react.
Sturd takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Sturd throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
al Din defending well as Sturd loads up on a big left hand.
Sturd avoids the head kick by al Din.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sturd digs a good hook to al Din's body.
al Din fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sturd.

Sturd lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
al Din cracks a nice hook into Sturd's ribs.
Sturd misses with a wild body shot.
al Din lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sturd's sensitive parts.
al Din throws a body kick that misses.

al Din throws the kick towards the body but Sturd avoids it.
al Din misses with a telegraphed body shot

so Sturd counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
al Din working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sturd.
Sturd keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of al Din's head.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as al Din holds on and takes a little breather.
Sturd with a flurry of punches that miss.

al Din looking for a guillotine here but Sturd defends easily.
al Din can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sturd controls the pace.
Let's hope that Sturd has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
al Din looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Sturd trying to control but al Din is working from the bottom.
Sturd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. al Din swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jason Sturd was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Sturd throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
al Din throws a wild body kick that Sturd sees coming a mile off.
al Din ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sturd takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
al Din tries to work over Sturd's front leg with a kick but Sturd checks it.
Sturd connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Sturd throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sturd fakes high and swings low for a body shot but al Din manages to avoid it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
al Din shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Sturd misses with a wild body shot.
al Din thows a body shot but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Taj al Din will probably get the nod.

That's time! al Din's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

al Din connects with a leg kick. Sturd looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Sturd lands a nice looking body kick.
Sturd misses with a double jab.
al Din misses with a head kick.
al Din lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Sturd can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from al Din and Sturd drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by al Din.
