Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brody Savanis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyo Kurosaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kurosaki is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Different Sense - Dir En Grey. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kyo Kurosaki!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurosaki loads up on a big right hand but Savanis slips the punch.
Kurosaki misses with a takedown

and Savanis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kurosaki is refusing to be controlled, as Savanis sits in half guard.
Kurosaki is trying to maintain the position but Savanis is very close to passing his half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Brody Savanis will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Horrible takedown by Savanis or perhaps it was just good defense by Kurosaki which made him look bad.

Kurosaki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Savanis's waist but Savanis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kurosaki off to one side.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kyo Kurosaki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kurosaki will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Kurosaki throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Savanis sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kurosaki is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kurosaki lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Savanis has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Savanis and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Savanis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kurosaki tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Savanis is in Kurosaki's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Savanis comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Savanis counters with a left and a right that stings Kurosaki.
Savanis walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
That kick from Kurosaki tenderised Savanis's leg. Savanis is trying to keep his angry face on.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kurosaki connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Kurosaki looks to score with a jab to the body but Savanis is just out of range.
Savanis on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Savanis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kurosaki throws a right hand that Savanis ducks under and follows up with a left that Savanis also avoids with ease.

Kurosaki shoots in looking for a takedown. Savanis tries to sprawl out of it but Kurosaki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Savanis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

I would just about give that final round to Kyo Kurosaki.
Well Kurosaki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
