Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adam Peri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sandro Poletto!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Poletto moves into the clinch successfully.
Poletto landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Peri is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Poletto prevents Peri from breaking the clinch.
Poletto is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Poletto pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Peri misses with a low kick.

Poletto connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Peri to the floor! Poletto dives in looking for the finish!


It looks like Adam Peri has been cut.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Poletto is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Nice strikes from Poletto there.
Poletto content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Poletto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Peri. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Poletto is pressing down on Peri's thigh, looking to free his foot. Peri is holding on for now.
Poletto seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Poletto lands an elbow inside that Peri shrugs off.
Poletto slowing the pace effectively.
Poletto is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Poletto is struggling to control the position.

Poletto jumps guard and drags Peri to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Poletto has Peri pulled in close to control his posture.

Peri working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Peri prevents Poletto from getting back to his feet.

Peri is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Poletto is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Poletto has escaped and now he's on top!
Poletto is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Poletto tries to free his leg and advance position but Peri is retaining full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sandro Poletto hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Peri is defended easily by Poletto.

Poletto darts in and clinches Peri up against the cage.

Poletto breaks the clinch.
Poletto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sandro Poletto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Peri shoots for a takedown but Poletto saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Peri tries to keep at a distance but Poletto has taken the fight into the clinch.
Peri drops down looking for an ankle pick but Poletto pulls his leg out and moves away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Poletto throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Peri stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Poletto follows into mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Adam Peri's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Poletto breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Poletto drives through and clinches with Peri against the cage.
Peri tries to break the clinch but Poletto is controlling the position.
Poletto stops a takedown attempt from Peri.
Stalling in the clinch from Poletto.
Poletto lands an elbow inside that Peri shrugs off.

Poletto breaks from the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Peri enables Poletto to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Peri manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Poletto is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Peri is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Peri has momentary wrist control but Poletto slips an elbow through the middle.
Poletto is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Poletto tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Peri manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Peri shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Poletto as he jumps to the side.

Poletto is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Peri is just riding it out for now. Poletto eventually gives up the hold.

Peri is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Poletto is tapping! Great win for Peri!
