Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Phil Laak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peppu Reiska MacDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MacDonald is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Placebo - Pure Morning. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phil Laak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peppu Reiska MacDonald!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laak throws a right and a left that MacDonald avoids nicely.
MacDonald shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Laak as he avoids it easily.
Laak misses the shot to the body.
MacDonald misses with a low kick.
A decent looking cross lands there for Laak.
MacDonald closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Laak closes the distance and clinches.
MacDonald lands a left hand.
Laak tries to work over MacDonald's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Laak goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Laak lands an uppercut.
Laak scores with a nice hook to the head.
Laak tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
MacDonald drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Laak gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Laak pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

MacDonald has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Laak avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Phil Laak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peppu Reiska MacDonald.
Laak misses with a hook to the ribs.
MacDonald tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Laak's elbow.
MacDonald is trying to drag Laak to the mat but Laak just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
MacDonald tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Laak smiles and moves away.

and MacDonald counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Laak is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MacDonald wants to pass to mount but Laak is defending the position.
Laak is controlling MacDonald's position as best he can from this difficult position.
MacDonald drops an elbow to the side of Laak's head.

This has been an exciting period of action!
MacDonald is pressing down on Laak's thigh, looking to free his foot. Laak is holding on for now.
MacDonald passes to full mount!
MacDonald lands a couple of good shots and Laak has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
MacDonald has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

MacDonald lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Laak hold on?!

Laak is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Even with his hooks in, MacDonald manages to miss with strikes from the back.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Laak is trapped and MacDonald is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Oh Laak is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
MacDonald is scoring with a succession of shots from the back. Laak is covering up - he's had enough and the ref steps in to end the fight!

A relieved looking Peppu Reiska MacDonald thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
