Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Strikes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Halo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Halo has chosen Squeeze 1st-Jay-Z as his entrance music. Carlos Strikes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 26 - 1, fighting out of London, Carlos Strikes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Halo!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Halo misses.
Strikes throws a head kick that half lands.
Strikes throws a front kick aimed at Halo's knee but Halo avoids it well.
Strikes is looking to clinch but Halo is avoiding it.
Strikes slips under a jab.
Halo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Strikes on the side of the head.


It looks like Carlos Strikes has been cut.
Nice body kick from Halo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Halo lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A slow jab from Halo misses its intended target.
Strikes blocks the body kick.
Halo misses the shot to the body.
Halo fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Strikes avoids the body shot from Halo.

Michael Halo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Halo feints a jab promting Strikes to slip. Halo then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Strikes slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Halo lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Strikes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Halo. Halo obviously looking to wear him down.
Halo feints and then cracks Strikes's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Strikes down.
Halo misses with a body shot.
Halo cracks the inside of Strikes's front leg.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Halo connects with a good right hand that stumbles Strikes. Strikes circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Nice body punch from Halo.
Halo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Halo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Strikes uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Halo.
Halo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and Strikes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Halo scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Strikes tests Halo's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Halo lands a big head kick that sends Strikes tumbling to the mat! Halo takes a step backwards and waves Strikes back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Carlos Strikes's cut is getting worse.
Strikes blocks the body kick.
Strikes steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Halo. That one must have hurt.
Halo throws a head kick that misses
and Strikes counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Strikes tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Strikes takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A jab from Halo misses.
Strikes is looking to clinch but Halo is avoiding it.
Halo wants to slow Strikes down by chopping away at his legs.
Halo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Strikes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Strikes moves out of range as Halo throws a body kick.
Halo throws a head kick that half lands.
Halo misses the shot to the body.
Halo moves out of range of the body kick from Strikes.
The fighters circling - Halo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Halo swats away the attempt to clinch by Strikes.
Strikes connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Strikes lands a jab to Halo's midsection.

and Strikes counters with a head kick that drops Halo to the mat! Halo scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!


Halo is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Strikes blocks the body kick.
Halo is still on wobbly legs! Can Strikes finish him?
Strikes takes one on the chin but keeps coming.


Carlos Strikes's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Strikes is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Halo throws a quick inside leg kick.
Halo seems to have recovered his senses.
Strikes misses with a body kick.
Halo connects with a solid leg kick.
Halo jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Strikes fails in his attempt to clinch.

Strikes checks a leg kick.
Strikes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Halo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Strikes takes one on the chin but seems OK.


Jeez, Carlos Strikes's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
A nice leg kick lands there from Halo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Halo throws a half hearted mid kick.
Halo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Strikes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Halo wants to land a leg kick but Strikes is out of range.
Strikes uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Halo.
Strikes checks a leg kick.
Halo throws a body punch but Strikes moves out of range.

Strikes forces Halo back against the cage and clinches.
Strikes misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Halo.

Strikes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Halo misses with a hook.
Halo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Strikes was well out of range. Poor timing from Halo.
Halo misses with a wild body shot.
Halo scores with a shot to the body.
Halo looks to score with a jab to the body but Strikes is just out of range.
Halo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Halo throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Strikes's head.
Halo tries to land a front kick but Strikes steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Strikes tries to clinch up.
Strikes tries to clinch but Halo is having none of it.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Halo throws a shot from downtown. Strikes moves away and avoids it.
Carlos Strikes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Halo lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Halo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Strikes counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Strikes.

Halo tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Strikes's elbow.

Halo blocks a body shot from Strikes.
Halo tries to work over Strikes's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Halo punishes Strikes's body with a nice straight punch.
Halo throws a leg kick but Strikes moved away.
Halo lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Strikes at a distance.

and Strikes counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Strikes.

Michael Halo gave a mention to Firebird Designs in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
