Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bowman Rook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhail Rakhmanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rakhmanov has chosen Russian national anthem as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Bowman Rook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Rakhmanov!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rakhmanov throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rook throws a head kick that half lands.
Rakhmanov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rook tries to clinch up

so Rakhmanov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Rakhmanov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rook swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rook lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Rook takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Bowman Rook is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rakhmanov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rook can pounce on him.
Rook tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A solid leg kick lands there for Rakhmanov.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rook throws a nice looking combination but Rakhmanov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rakhmanov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rook tries to avoid it but Rakhmanov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rook to the ground. Rook escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rook takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Rakhmanov does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

This has been an exciting period of action!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mikhail Rakhmanov hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
