Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tyron Woodley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Ling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyron Woodley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kenji Ling!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodley lands with a good body shot.

Woodley feints and as Ling raises his hands in defense, Woodley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Woodley gets to his feet. Ling looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ling shoots in looking for a takedown but Woodley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ling's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Woodley blocks a head kick by Ling.

Ling is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Woodley's half guard.
Woodley keeps control of the position for the meantime.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Woodley with shots to the head and body - Ling looks very uncomfortable down there.
Woodley is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ling can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Woodley avoids the attempt from Ling to control.
The referee warns Ling that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

and Ling counters with a good low kick that Woodley was not able to check.

Ling tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Woodley swivels and escapes.

Woodley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Ling looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tyron Woodley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenji Ling.

Woodley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ling on his heels. He'll look to pass Ling's guard now, I'm sure.

Ling is looking to reverse the position.
Woodley lands an elbow.
Woodley content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You can see the frustration on Ling's face as Woodley controls the position.

Ling looks to land a right hand but Woodley moved out of range.
Woodley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Woodley's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ling under the eye.
Ling avoids a punch combination nicely.
A head kick misses from Woodley.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ling is defended easily by Woodley.

Woodley decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Woodley working over Ling with some ground and pound. Ling looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Woodley in particular looking to stall.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Woodley connects with a nice short shot to Ling's temple.

Still in half guard, Woodley seems content to control.
Ling on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Woodley's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Tyron Woodley has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Woodley shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Ling eats them both and turns towards Woodley to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Ling throws a head kick but Woodley moves out of range.
Woodley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ling can do to turn this around?

Woodley wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Woodley throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ling was covering up waiting for the punch and Woodley finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ling takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Woodley is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tyron Woodley.
Ling takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ling looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Woodley is fending him off so far but Ling persists. Nope, Woodley circles away and we're back to standing.
No joy there for Woodley, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kenji Ling has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Woodley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
