PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rafal Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Monster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wallace comes to the cage accompanied by Alter Bridge - Come to life. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monster with a lazy takedown attempt

and Wallace counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Monster!
Monster tries to improve position but can't.

Wallace decides to stand up, so the ref orders Monster to his feet.

Wallace drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Monster misses with a takedown attempt
and Wallace counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Wallace gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Monster regains guard.

Wallace tries to advance to mount but Monster denies him.
Monster is looking to reverse the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You can see the frustration on Monster's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Wallace is working for a guillotine from mount but Monster frees his head quite easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Monster manages to regain half guard. Good work.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Monster shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wallace as he jumps to the side.

Monster sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wallace's guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Wallace struggling a bit here.
Wallace tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Monster working away.
Monster wants to take a breather but Wallace manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Monster.
Monster wants to control from the top but Wallace keeps moving.

Wallace looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Wallace has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Monster can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Monster drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Monster jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jeff Monster comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Wallace has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
