Shoznes comes to the cage accompanied by O-Zone - Dragostea Din Tei. Joseph Shoznes has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Shoznes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Burke!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burke connects with an inside leg kick.
Shoznes feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Burke's calf.
Shoznes misses with a hook. Burke ducked under it nicely.
Shoznes with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Burke misses with a body shot.
Burke misses with a jab to the body
and Burke takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Burke stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Shoznes.
A jab from Burke finds it's way through Shoznes's defenses.
Some wild striking there from Shoznes.
Shoznes avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shoznes throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Shoznes throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Burke blocks it with crossed arms.

Burke is looking to break free of the clinch but Shoznes has double underhooks.
Shoznes using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Burke has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

It looks like James Burke has been cut.

Shoznes tries to clinch up but Burke circles away and keeps his distance.
Burke misses with a wild body shot.

Shoznes walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Nice defenses there by Shoznes.
Burke sizes up Shoznes with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Burke is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Shoznes rather than just go for the knockout.

and Burke counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Shoznes!
Burke is trying to ground and pound but Shoznes uses the momentary lack of control by Burke to regain half guard.

Burke thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Shoznes is looking to regain half guard here but Burke keeps moving and retains side control.

You can see the frustration on Shoznes's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Shoznes covering up well under a series of strikes from Burke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Shoznes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Burke paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Shoznes lands with a thumping leg kick.

Burke tries to keep at a distance but Shoznes has taken the fight into the clinch.

Burke breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Burke lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Shoznes takes a jab right on the kisser.
Burke throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Burke lands an overhand right.
Burke throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shoznes's waist but Shoznes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Burke off to one side.
Burke fakes the leg kick and cracks Shoznes in the body.

and Shoznes counters with a leg kick.
Burke lands a nice looking body shot.
Shoznes misses with a body kick.
Burke throws a nice inside leg kick.

Shoznes moves into the clinch.
Burke takes an elbow to the forehead.
Shoznes slowing the pace effectively.
Burke managing to block the knees to the body from Shoznes.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Shoznes scores with a nice hook to the head.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Burke just misses with a elbow thrown towards Shoznes's brow.
Shoznes is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Burke is keeping busy.

Burke breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
James Burke seems to be getting the better of the standup.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burke connects with a leg kick. Shoznes looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Shoznes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Burke manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Shoznes tries to land a front kick but Burke steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Burke connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shoznes. Shoznes circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Shoznes moves in looking to clinch but Burke pushes him off.

Burke bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Shoznes's head backwards.

Shoznes clinches.
Burke has had enough of the clinch but Shoznes keeps him there for the moment.

Burke escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Burke closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

and Burke decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shoznes's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burke accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Burke goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Shoznes has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Burke but great work by Shoznes.

Burke bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shoznes's guard.

Shoznes is holding on to half guard well.
James Burke is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Burke is figuring out what he wants to do next.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shoznes is trying to stand up here but Burke is controlling him well.

James Burke comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Burke winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
