Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Rowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blake Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rowan comes to the cage accompanied by Anthrax - I Am The Law. Axe has chosen For Whom the Bell Tolls as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rowan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Axe circles away.
Axe is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Rowan.
Rowan looks for a takedown but Axe sprawls well.
Rowan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Axe lands with a nice combination. Rowan backs away looking to recover.
Rowan dives in and grabs Axe's left leg, looking for a takedown. Axe pushes down on Rowan's head and hops out.

Good leg kick by Rowan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Rowan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Axe is just riding it out for now. Rowan eventually gives up the hold.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rowan is looking for a kimura but Axe is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rowan to get the leverage.

Axe shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Axe walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rowan does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Samuel Rowan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Axe is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rowan.
Axe has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Rowan.

Rowan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Axe is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rowan.
Rowan lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A nice inside leg kick there by Rowan. That's going to slow Axe down.
Rowan shoots in and gets a takedown into Axe's guard.
Axe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rowan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rowan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rowan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Axe leaves Rowan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Blake Axe hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Well Rowan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Samuel Rowan decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
