Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Watership Down (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Frederick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Down comes to the cage accompanied by Tick Tick Boom. Paul Frederick will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Watership Down!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Frederick!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Down shoots in for a takedown but Frederick shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Down gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Frederick to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Frederick trying to control but Down is working from the bottom.

Down is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Down bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Frederick's guard.

Down drops back looking for a leg! Frederick is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Frederick manages to kick Down off! Down jumps back into Frederick's guard.
Down is working Frederick over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Frederick controls Down momentarily but Down frees himself.

Down has gone for a leg lock! Frederick slips out almost immediately though and dives into Down's guard.

Frederick got a little sloppy there for a moment and Down has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Frederick has managed to get both his arms back between Down's legs - danger averted.
Frederick wants to control from the top but Down keeps moving.

Down is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Frederick is looking to work some ground and pound but Down has wrist control.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Down is on top in guard.
Down scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Down stands and throws Frederick's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Frederick takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Down has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Down is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Frederick is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Frederick is trying to stick to Down's back but Down is turning into Frederick. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Frederick's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Down.
Down stays in close to Frederick's body and controls the position.
Down might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Down trying to control the position from guard on top but Frederick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Watership Down wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Down shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Down showed some decent athleticism there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Watership Down dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


No luck for Down with that takedown attempt.
Down shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Frederick pinned against the cage. Frederick gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Frederick closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Frederick lands in his opponent's guard.
Frederick connects with a couple of short punches.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Down on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Down tries to get out of the position.

Down is keen to just control but Frederick is a slippery customer.

Down cracks Frederick with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Down cracks Frederick with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Down looking to control but Frederick is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Frederick is working to get back to half guard.
Down lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Down pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Down is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Frederick can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Down tries to control but Frederick wriggling away.

Down is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Down closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Frederick did well to prevent Down getting side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Frederick wants to control but Down is keeping busy and won't allow it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Frederick is trying to control but can't.
Down is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Down avoids the attempt from Frederick to control.
Frederick is working to get back to half guard.
Down lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Down is working for a guillotine from mount but Frederick frees his head quite easily.
Frederick can't escape the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Down is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Frederick's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Frederick's back!

Down looking to break Frederick's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Frederick remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Down will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Down sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Frederick taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Watership Down!
An out of breath Watership Down thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
