PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taco Belle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bubba Gump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gump comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fucking Hostile - Pantera kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Bubba Gump will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gump fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Belle misses with the combination.
Belle misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gump.
Jab from Gump.
Gump thows a left - swing and a miss!
Belle throws a hook but Gump blocks it.
Gump looks to score with a jab to the body but Belle is just out of range.
Gump misses with an uppercut.
Belle misses with a looping left.
Belle moves in looking to clinch but Gump pushes him off.
Belle lets loose with a powerful body kick. Gump will feel that in the morning.
Belle avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gump lands a glancing blow to the side of Belle's head.
Gump connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Belle lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Gump throws a body punch but Belle moves out of range.
Gump shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Belle sprawls well. Belle wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gump gets slowly back to his feet.
Belle throws a lazy right hand but Gump sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Belle moves into the clinch.

Gump escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Belle tries to clinch up but Gump circles away and keeps his distance.
Gump on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Belle throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Belle fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gump.
Taco Belle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Belle swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gump shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Belle scores with a push kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gump slips under a jab from Belle.
Gump takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
A telegraphed right hand from Belle misses the target.

Belle walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gump checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Gump blocks a head kick by Belle.
Gump shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Belle as he jumps to the side.
Taco Belle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bubba Gump.
Gump misses with a hook. Belle ducked under it nicely.
No luck for Gump with that takedown attempt.

Gump shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Belle as he jumps to the side.
Gump lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Belle backs up against the cage.

Gump misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Gump throws a looping overhand right but Belle ducks down to avoid it.
Belle walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

and Gump cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Belle cracks Gump with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Belle rushes Gump and presses him up against the cage.
Gump lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Belle lands on the inside with an uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Belle lands a hook to the side of the head.
Gump is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Belle gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Gump trying to control the position but instead, Belle has worked for underhooks and has pushed Gump into the cage.
Belle misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gump.

Belle is fighting off a takedown attempt but Gump is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Belle to the mat. Belle regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Belle seems keen to control Gump's posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Taco Belle will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Belle throws out a loose jab but Gump uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gump darts in looking for a takedown but Belle gets double underhooks and turns Gump into the cage.
Gump wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Belle has him pressed against the cage.
Belle tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Belle prevents the takedown attempt.

Gump tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Belle's elbow.
Belle misses with a hook to the ribs.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Belle creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Gump's defenses.
Belle tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gump avoids it.
Gump lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Oh Belle is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gump throws a big uppercut that drops Belle! More strikes from Gump and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Belle lies dazed against the cage as Gump celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bubba Gump!
Post fight, Bubba Gump stared into the camera and said 'There's shrimp kabobs, shrimp cocktail, shrimp fritters, shrimp gumbo, shrimp scampi...'.
