Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Novak Zangief (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle McAdams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Novak Zangief has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McAdams throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Zangief was covering up waiting for the punch and McAdams finishes the takedown easily into guard.
McAdams is pushing down on Zangief's leg trying to pass to half guard. Zangief is fighting to maintain full guard but McAdams has managed to sneak the leg through.
McAdams with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
McAdams throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
McAdams performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
McAdams uses his free foot to push down on Zangief's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zangief.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zangief is working to get back to half guard.

Zangief knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McAdams on the ground.

Zangief moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Zangief throws a head kick that McAdams semi-blocks.
Zangief misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McAdams thows a left - swing and a miss!
McAdams tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Zangief manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A nice leg kick lands there from Zangief.
McAdams takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
McAdams doesn't manage to clinch there - Zangief circles away.
Zangief throws a nice head kick!
Zangief throws a head kick that misses.
Zangief scores with a kick to the body.
Zangief throws a sloppy head kick and McAdams moves out of range easily.
Novak Zangief is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McAdams throws a head kick but Zangief moves out of range.
Zangief ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Zangief lands with a slapping head kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

McAdams gets the takedown into side control.
McAdams looks winded!
Zangief is trying to escape the position but McAdams is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Novak Zangief will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

McAdams shoots in and gets a takedown into Zangief's guard.

Zangief swats away the attempt to clinch by McAdams.

McAdams has managed to clinch.

Zangief misses with a knee strike.
McAdams is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Zangief pulls him back up using the underhooks.
McAdams tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Zangief smiles and moves away.
McAdams takes a kick to the side of the head.

It looks like Kyle McAdams has been cut.

McAdams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

McAdams will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Zangief lands a big head kick that sends McAdams tumbling to the mat! Zangief takes a step backwards and waves McAdams back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McAdams tries for a takedown but Zangief sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
