PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zander Freyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freyer has chosen Milquetoast as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Zander Freyer was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zander Freyer!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole moves out of range of the body kick from Freyer.
Freyer misses with a body kick.
Cole shoots in for a takedown but Freyer shows good takedown defense.
Cole misses with a takedown attempt - Freyer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Freyer throws a low kick but it's checked well by Cole.

Freyer moves into the clinch successfully.
Freyer lands a damaging elbow.

Freyer breaks from the clinch.
Freyer misses the shot to the body.
Cole shoots in looking for a takedown but Freyer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cole's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Freyer throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Freyer keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Freyer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cole circles away quickly and effectively.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Freyer wants to control but Cole postures up.

Cole wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Freyer, who protects the arm well.
Cole is breathing heavily.
Freyer tries to improve position but can't.

Cole tries to advance to mount but can't.
Cole taking a break here but Freyer is having none of it and regains half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Freyer is concentrating on defense, preventing Cole from advancing position.
Freyer looks like he's trying to stand up.

Freyer regains full guard. Nicely done.
Freyer wants to stand up but Cole is controlling him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Freyer can do anything to dispel that myth.

and Freyer counters with a big head kick but Cole shrugs it off.

Freyer fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cole gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Freyer misses with a few strikes there.
Freyer connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Freyer misses with a jab, cross combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zander Freyer dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Cole fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Freyer avoids it really well and circles away.
Freyer scores with a jab. Cole acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Cole gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Freyer counters by moving into the clinch.
Cole has Freyer pressed against the cage, preventing Freyer from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Freyer tries to land a front kick but Cole steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Zander Freyer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Zander Freyer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Freyer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
