The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kessler takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jamm tries to land a front kick but Kessler steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jamm takes a swing at Kessler's ribcage but misses.
Jamm misses with a kick to the body.
Jamm misses with a hook to the body
and Kessler counters with a nice leg kick.
Jamm misses the jab.
Kessler lands a front kick.
Kessler takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kessler shoots for a double leg takedown but Jamm sprawls well. He's pushed Kessler's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kessler fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Jamm tries to land a leg kick but Kessler saw it coming and moves away.

Jamm has managed to clinch.
Kessler stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Kessler wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kessler will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Jamm up against the cage.
Kessler tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jamm looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Jamm scores with a knee to the head.

Jamm tries to land knees in the clinch but Kessler avoids the damage to the body.

Jamm breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jamm gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kessler.
Jamm misses with a straight left.
Kessler moves out of range of the body kick.
Kessler finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Kessler dives in for a single leg takedown but Jamm sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kessler trying to control the position but instead, Jamm has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kessler into the cage.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Jamm obliges.

Jamm moves out of range of the leg kick from Kessler.

Kessler takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Kessler looks to land a body kick but Jamm moved away.
Oh Kessler is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jamm feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kessler's calf.
Kessler is looking to slow Jamm down with leg kicks.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jamm weaves into range and cracks Kessler right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Kessler goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Jamm is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jima Jamm! Jima Jamm retains his middleweight title!
