PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dean Winchester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rock comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Guns N Roses- Sweet Child O Mine kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dean Winchester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lance Rock!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winchester feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rocks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Rock stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rock wants it to stay on the feet.
Winchester circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rock tries to clinch but Winchester moves out of range.
Winchester throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rock tries to clinch up.

Winchester shoots in and gets a takedown into Rock's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rock looking to control.
Winchester trying to control but Rock is working from the bottom.
Rock wants to stand but Winchester is controlling the position.
Winchester trying to control the position from guard on top but Rock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Winchester in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Rock has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Winchester off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Lance Rock is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rock throws a low kick but Winchester moves out of range easily.
Rock throws a sloppy head kick
and Winchester counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Lance Rock has been cut.
Winchester lands with a cross.
Rock with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Rock doesn't manage to clinch there - Winchester circles away.
Winchester is looking to score with low kicks.
Winchester feints and then cracks Rock's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rock down.
Rock tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Winchester loads up on a big right hand but Rock slips the punch.
Rock keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rock is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rock throws a low kick, looking for Winchester's leg but Winchester calmly moves out of range.

A lazy left from Winchester finds it's target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rock. Winchester does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rock uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Winchester.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Winchester.
Winchester misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rock prevents Winchester from moving into mount.

Winchester working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Winchester wants to control but Rock is keeping him busy.
Winchester throws a strike aimed at the side of Rock's head but Rock avoids it well.

Winchester misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Winchester wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rock keeps working.
Rock tries to buck Winchester off but Winchester is having none of it.
Winchester tries to score with some ground and pound. Rock controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Rock wants to control but Winchester is keeping busy.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Winchester not landing any meaningful shots this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rock is looking to improve his position.

Dean Winchester dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lance Rock's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rock thumps Winchester with a low kick.
Rock drops his hands momentarily and Winchester takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Winchester tries a head kick but it misses.
Rock takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Rock doesn't manage to clinch there - Winchester circles away.
Winchester shoots for a takedown but Rock saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Rock bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Rock lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

enabling Winchester to counter with a crisp jab.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Some bone on bone action there as Winchester checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

and Rock counters with a low kick, right behind Winchester 's knee.
Rock tries a low kick but Winchester avoids it.
Rock throws a leg kick but Winchester moved away.
Rock fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Winchester is out of range.
Rock pivots, looking for a leg kick but Winchester is out of range and Rock settles back down.

Rock tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Winchester manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rock throws a leg kick but Winchester sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Rock moves into range and clinches up with Winchester.
Rock has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Winchester avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Rock drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Winchester gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Winchester throws a chopping leg kick but Rock manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Rock wants to stand and escape but Winchester is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Rock counters with a nice low kick that buckles Winchester's knee momentarily.

Dean Winchester showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Winchester has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
