Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pawel Wisniewski!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Vitor Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Left hook, right uppercut from Gracie.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt - Wisniewski sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wisniewski uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gracie.

It looks like Vitor Gracie has been cut.
Wisniewski throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gracie sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Gracie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Wisniewski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wisniewski has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wisniewski defends it easily.

Gracie throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Wisniewski escapes and throws Gracie's legs to the side, diving into side control!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wisniewski swings widly with a right hand

and Gracie counters with a single leg into guard. Wisniewski didn't expect that.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Wisniewski keeps moving.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wisniewski is on top in guard.

Gracie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wisniewski is aware though and is defending well.

Wisniewski misses with a hook.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Gracie crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Wisniewski - the referee stops the clock and Gracie gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Wisniewski. Gracie manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wisniewski tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wisniewski to the ground. Wisniewski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Wisniewski is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gracie.
Gracie takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Some bone on bone action there as Gracie checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

and Wisniewski counters with a three punch combo that has Gracie backing up. Gracie nods at Wisniewski to acknowledge the strikes.
Vitor Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wisniewski but Wisniewski pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That kick from Wisniewski tenderised Gracie's leg. Gracie is trying to keep his angry face on.

The fighters circling - Wisniewski throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

The crowd cheers as Gracie lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wisniewski doesn't seem phased though.

Gracie is rocked!
Wisniewski batters Gracie with a massive right followed by a huge left! Gracie is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Wisniewski lands a final crushing right hand to drop Gracie to the mat with a gruesome thud! Wisniewski is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
