Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bornas Lopette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chase Ries (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lopette kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is This is War. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopette swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ries scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Ries misses with a two punch combination.
Lopette throws a good cross that connects.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ries is defended easily by Lopette.
Ries takes a swing at Lopette's ribcage but misses.
Ries bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Ries rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lopette moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lopette walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ries checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Chase Ries seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ries looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Some wild striking there from Lopette.
Ries looks to land a combination but Lopette avoids it well.
Ries shoots for a takedown but Lopette saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Lopette misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Bornas Lopette will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ries shoots for a double leg takedown but Lopette sprawls well. He's pushed Ries's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ries changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lopette looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Ries is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Good leg kick by Lopette there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
