Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jigga Higga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mountain Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jigga Higga has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jigga Higga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 39 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mountain Rivera!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Higga is defended easily by Rivera.

Rivera shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Rivera was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Higga is looking to regain half guard here but Rivera keeps moving and retains side control.

Rivera tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rivera has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rivera drops back looking for a leg! Higga is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Higga manages to kick Rivera off! Rivera jumps back into Higga's guard.

Higga looking for a sweep. Not yet Higga, not yet.
Higga keeping moving, preventing Rivera from controlling successfully.
Rivera's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Rivera chips away with some ground and pound.

Higga working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rivera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rivera manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rivera avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Higga wants to stand but Rivera is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mountain Rivera will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Rivera shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Higga's guard.

Higga had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rivera defends it easily.

Higga is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Higga has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rivera can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Higga is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Rivera stands up over Higga, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Higga has momentary wrist control but Rivera slips an elbow through the middle.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rivera stands up and waves to Higga to follow him.
No luck for Higga with that takedown attempt.

Rivera feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mountain Rivera has got the better of the ground game so far.
Higga wants to sweep here but Rivera controlling him for the moment.

Higga has his foot on Rivera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rivera works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mountain Rivera was stalling too much, according to the referee.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Higga shoots for a takedown but Rivera saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Rivera arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Higga's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mountain Rivera!
