PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Loblaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Loblaw's choice of entrance music: Bob Loblaw Song. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ryan Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bob Loblaw!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loblaw feints and then cracks Stone's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stone down.
Stone walks forward, straight into a front kick from Loblaw.
Loblaw throws a head kick that Stone semi-blocks.
Donk. Loblaw catches Stone right on the button with a cross.
Loblaw misses with a wild body shot.
Loblaw throws a half hearted mid kick.
A big right from Loblaw misses.
Stone swats away the attempt to clinch by Loblaw.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Loblaw fails in his attempt to clinch.
Loblaw scores with a push kick.
Loblaw throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Stone's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stone takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Loblaw slips under a jab.
Stone takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The fighters circling - Stone throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Loblaw misses with a leg kick.
Loblaw loads up on a big right hand but Stone slips the punch.

Stone closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Loblaw did well to prevent Stone getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stone drops an elbow to the side of Loblaw's head.
Stone is trying to control. Loblaw wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stone is thwarting Loblaw's attempts to control the position.

Stone not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stone takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Loblaw tries to get to full guard but Stone has control of the leg.
Loblaw has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Stone looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Loblaw with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Stone moves into full mount! Loblaw won't be happy about that!
Stone is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Loblaw can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Stone thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Stone has control of Loblaw's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Loblaw regains control of the situation pretty easily.

BOOM! Stone connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Stone cracks Loblaw with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Stone has control of Loblaw's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Loblaw regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Loblaw avoids a series of strikes thrown by Stone.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Loblaw can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Stone landing punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Loblaw wants to control but Stone is having none of it.

Stone is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Loblaw has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Loblaw!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Stone dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Loblaw lands a jab to the head.
Loblaw fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Stone has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Stone takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Stone throws an overhand right that lands on Loblaw's shoulder, as Loblaw tries to avoid the shot.
Stone shoots for a takedown but Loblaw saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Crunch! Loblaw slams his shin into Stone's torso.
Bob Loblaw seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Loblaw tries to clinch up.
Stone cracks Loblaw with a good jab.
Loblaw throws a shot to the body.

Stone takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Loblaw blocks a jab.
Loblaw stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Loblaw wants it to stay on the feet.
Loblaw turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Loblaw lands with a thumping leg kick.
Loblaw throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stone.
Loblaw moves in looking to clinch but Stone pushes him off.

Stone swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Stone misses with a straight left.
Stone takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Loblaw lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Loblaw fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Loblaw throws a head kick that half lands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stone throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Loblaw counters with a body kick that stops Stone in his tracks momentarily.
Loblaw steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Stone.
Loblaw misses with a head kick.
Stone stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Loblaw.
Loblaw swings for the body but Stone moves out of range.

Stone looks to land a right hand but Loblaw moved out of range.
That kick from Loblaw tenderised Stone's leg. Stone is trying to keep his angry face on.
Stone shoots in for a takedown but Loblaw shows good takedown defense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Loblaw showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Stone tries to circle away but Loblaw has him pinned against the cage.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Loblaw lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Stone backwards.
Stone is working for takedown but Loblaw is calmly controlling the position for now.

Stone is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Loblaw pushes Stone back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Oh Stone is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

I think Loblaw has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
