Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elias Eberhard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Ivey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivey has chosen Friday as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Elias Eberhard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Phil Ivey!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ivey, as that shot connected.
Eberhard swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Eberhard thows a huge punch but Ivey dodges it nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Eberhard is nestled in close to Ivey, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Eberhard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ivey is looking for a sweep. Eberhard is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Eberhard scores with a jab. Ivey acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Eberhard shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ivey defends it nicely.

Eberhard wants to control from the top but Ivey keeps moving.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Eberhard's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd cheers as Ivey lands an impressive looking overhand right. Eberhard doesn't seem phased though.
Ivey tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Eberhard was well out of range. Poor timing from Ivey.
Eberhard shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ivey but Ivey pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ivey defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Eberhard.

Eberhard bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Eberhard shoots in looking for a takedown. Ivey tries to sprawl out of it but Eberhard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ivey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ivey lands a big head kick that sends Eberhard tumbling to the mat! Ivey takes a step backwards and waves Eberhard back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Elias Eberhard has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Eberhard with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ivey to score with a decent uppercut.

Eberhard throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ivey tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Eberhard is in Ivey's guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Phil Ivey hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Eberhard misses with a lunging right hand
and Ivey counters with a left and a right that stings Eberhard.
Eberhard shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ivey as he avoids it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Phil Ivey seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Eberhard fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ivey to the ground. Eberhard is now in Ivey's guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Phil Ivey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ivey throws a low kick, looking for Eberhard's leg but Eberhard calmly moves out of range.

Ivey manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Eberhard manages to get himself to full guard.
