Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Earnest Abe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frenchy Fuqua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abe comes to the cage accompanied by Uncle Sam Goddamn. Fuqua comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Prodigy- Diesal Power kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Earnest Abe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abe throws a half hearted mid kick.

Fuqua wants to clinch up but Abe keeps it at a distance.

Abe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fuqua circles away quickly and effectively.
Fuqua throws a low kick but Abe avoids it.
Abe lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Fuqua ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Abe moves away.

Abe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fuqua manages to avoid it.
Frenchy Fuqua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Abe fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Abe throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Abe circles away from the clinch attempt.
Abe takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fuqua connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Fuqua wants to land a leg kick but Abe is out of range.

Fuqua darts in and clinches Abe up against the cage.
Abe looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Fuqua has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Fuqua there as he acknowledges the shot.
Abe takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Fuqua has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Abe motions for Fuqua to come forward. Abe throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Fuqua tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Abe paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Fuqua tries to clinch but Abe is having none of it.

It looks like Earnest Abe has been cut.

Fuqua pushes off an throws an elbow but Abe leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Abe takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Fuqua has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Abe is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Abe misses with a hook to the ribs.

Fuqua drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Abe lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Abe lands a left hand that snaps the head of Fuqua backwards.

Earnest Abe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frenchy Fuqua.

Abe is pressed up against the cage. Fuqua has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Abe down to the mat. Abe avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Fuqua tries to bum rush Abe with a series of wild strikes but Abe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Earnest Abe will probably get the nod.
