Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Toshiro Montero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Virgil Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montero comes to the cage accompanied by Danzig - Mother . Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Toshiro Montero!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Virgil Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Montero bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Morgan tries to buck Montero off but Montero is having none of it.
Morgan prevents Montero from improving position.
Morgan is looking for a sweep.
Morgan wants to control but Montero postures up.
Montero wants to lay and pray for a moment but Morgan keeps working.
Morgan felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close second round but I would say that Toshiro Montero will probably get the nod.

Montero feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Virgil Morgan decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
