PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rocco Sifreddi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Hecker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sifreddi comes into the arena with I'm too sexy blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hecker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sifreddi avoids it really well and circles away.
Hecker has a takedown stuffed.
Nice sprawl there from Sifreddi as Hecker shoots in.
Rocco Sifreddi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Hecker.

Hecker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sifreddi did well to prevent Hecker getting side control.

Sifreddi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hecker is looking to regain half guard here but Sifreddi keeps moving and retains side control.

Sifreddi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hecker is aware though and is defending well.

Hecker shoots in but Sifreddi avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sifreddi is pressed up against the cage. Hecker has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sifreddi down to the mat. Sifreddi avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jeff Hecker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hecker shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hecker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sifreddi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hecker has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sifreddi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Sifreddi's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Sifreddi arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Hecker's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
