Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brutaali Pekka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Ascanio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ascanio has chosen Otis Taylor / Ten Million Slaves as his entrance music. Dante Ascanio has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Brutaali Pekka's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pekka shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ascanio sprawls well. Ascanio wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pekka gets slowly back to his feet.

Pekka feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pekka goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ascanio turns into him and now he's in Pekka's guard.

Ascanio wants to get up but he can't break Pekka's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ascanio checks a leg kick.

Ascanio felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Ascanio has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Pekka is on him like a limpet, forcing Ascanio back against the cage.

Pekka has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ascanio finds it's way round the side to connect with Pekka's head.
Pekka looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Pekka tries for a takedown but Ascanio sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Pekka throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Pekka shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Pekka scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Pekka is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ascanio sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Pekka changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ascanio tries to avoid it but Pekka manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ascanio to the ground. Ascanio escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pekka dives in and grabs Ascanio's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ascanio pushes down on Pekka's head and hops out.

It looks like Brutaali Pekka has been cut.
Ascanio moves into range and connects with a jab.

Ascanio tries to close the distance and clinch but Pekka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Pekka tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ascanio swivels and escapes.
Oh Pekka is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Pekka shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ascanio as he avoids it easily.

Pekka moves forwards but Ascanio connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Ascanio bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pekka's head.

Pekka tries to bum rush Ascanio with a series of wild strikes but Ascanio uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Horrible takedown by Pekka or perhaps it was just good defense by Ascanio which made him look bad.
Brutaali Pekka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ascanio lands a big uppercut and Pekka crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Pekka looks OK. Ascanio waves Pekka back to his feet!

Pekka looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ascanio is fending him off so far but Pekka persists. Nope, Ascanio circles away and we're back to standing.
Pekka takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Ascanio ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Pekka darts in looking for a takedown but Ascanio gets double underhooks and turns Pekka into the cage.

Ascanio lands a right hand that snaps the head of Pekka backwards.

Ascanio creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Pekka with a big uppercut! Pekka tries to clinch up but Ascanio pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Pekka to the mat! Pekka covers up and Ascanio unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

A relieved looking Dante Ascanio thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
