Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kasim Akande (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bas Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kasim Akande!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bas Severn!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akande throws a lazy uppercut
and Severn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Kasim Akande has been cut.
Akande misses with a head kick.
Akande shoots in for a takedown but Severn shows good takedown defense.
Akande looks to land a left hand but Severn moved out of range nicely.
Nice defenses there by Akande.
Akande feints and then cracks Severn's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Severn down.
Akande missing with a left hand there. Severn was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Severn fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Akande is out of range.
Good leg kick by Akande there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Severn closes the distance but Akande moves to the side
and Akande counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Severn is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Akande thows a body shot but no joy.
Severn has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Akande throws a leg kick but Severn sees it coming and moves out of range.

Akande misses with a wild body shot.
Severn goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Severn misses with a low kick.
Severn throws a sloppy body shot

and Akande counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Akande is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Severn is just riding it out for now. Akande eventually gives up the hold.
Severn is pressing down on Akande's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Akande drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Severn manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Akande has Severn in his guard.

Akande is looking for a triangle but Severn pushes his legs off easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Severn scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Akande has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Severn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Akande has his foot on Severn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Severn works his way back into a safe position though.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Severn's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Akande working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Severn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Severn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Akande keeping moving, preventing Severn from controlling successfully.

Severn works over Akande with some ground and pound from guard.
Severn throws a big elbow that misses.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Severn rushes Akande and presses him up against the cage.
Akande is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Akande's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Akande fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Severn cracks Akande with an uppercut from hell and Akande crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Severn's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Akande is rocked!

Severn works over Akande with some ground and pound from guard.
Oh Akande is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bas Severn has got the better of the ground game so far.
Severn postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Akande covers up, he's hurt! Severn keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Severn and the ref steps in to end the fight! Severn can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
