And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonnell lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
McDonnell tries to sprawl but Legstrong drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Legstrong perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
McDonnell is looking to control Legstrong's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McDonnell avoid being mounted?
Legstrong is looking to advance position but McDonnell won't allow it.
Legstrong is trying to work for a kimura but McDonnell is defending well.
McDonnell is looking for a sweep. Legstrong is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Legstrong is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Legstrong is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McDonnell is just riding it out for now. Legstrong eventually gives up the hold.
McDonnell wants to control but Legstrong is keeping busy and won't allow it.

McDonnell is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Legstrong is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Legstrong is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Legstrong is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed McDonnell to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
McDonnell is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Legstrong wants to control from the top but McDonnell keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McDonnell is trying to keep Legstrong in close.

Legstrong sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McDonnell's guard.
McDonnell wants to get back to full guard.

Legstrong seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Lance Legstrong hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Legstrong uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McDonnell.
McDonnell tried to score with a low kick but Legstrong checks it.
Legstrong tries to land a front kick but McDonnell steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

McDonnell gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Legstrong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McDonnell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Lance Legstrong hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by McDonnell.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lance Legstrong dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
McDonnell throws a chopping leg kick but Legstrong manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
McDonnell misses with an attempted mid kick.
Legstrong ducks under a wild hook from McDonnell.
Lance Legstrong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Legstrong throws a head kick that misses.
McDonnell feints and then cracks Legstrong's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Legstrong down.
Legstrong throws a half hearted mid kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Legstrong.
Legstrong tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McDonnell throws a nice inside leg kick.
Legstrong takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
A clash of legs there as Legstrong blocks the low kick.
McDonnell thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Legstrong if he has to take too many more of those.
Legstrong misses with a body kick.
McDonnell swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McDonnell throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Legstrong misses with a wild body shot.
Legstrong closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Legstrong working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Legstrong thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Legstrong wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McDonnell, who protects the arm well.
McDonnell is trying to improve his position.
Legstrong in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... McDonnell is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
