Play comes to the cage accompanied by Simon Says-Pharaohe Monche. Beswicke is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kick in the teeth. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 20 - 1, fighting out of New York, Foul Play!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 17 - 1, fighting out of New York, Braylon Beswicke!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Play throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Play has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Midnight MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Beswicke uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Play.
Play throws a body kick that misses
and Beswicke makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Play connects with a jab.


It looks like Braylon Beswicke has been cut.
Beswicke fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Play manages to avoid it.
Play misses with a wild combination.
Beswicke with a hook.
Beswicke ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Play moves away.
Beswicke digs a good hook to Play's body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Play explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Play throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Play scores with a jab to the jaw.
Play has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Beswicke.
Beswicke misses with a kick to the body.
Play tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Both fighters circling a little - Play finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Foul Play seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Play stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Beswicke.

Play uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Beswicke.
Beswicke connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Beswicke feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Play's calf.
Play takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Play walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Beswicke misses with a low kick.
Play digs a good hook to Beswicke's body.
Play on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Beswicke throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Play closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Play throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Beswicke sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Play cracks Beswicke with a right hand to the side of the head.
Beswicke checks a leg kick.
Play pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
A low kick from Play is predictable there
and Beswicke counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Play does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Beswicke bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Play misses with a hook. Beswicke ducked under it nicely.
A slapping leg kick lands for Play.
Beswicke takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Play misses with a straight left.
Play throws a hook but Beswicke avoids it easily.
Play is looking to slow Beswicke down with leg kicks.
Beswicke jabs Play right on the nose. Play blinks but takes it well.

Beswicke throws a hook but Play blocks it.
Play tried to score with a low kick but Beswicke checks it.
Play fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Beswicke has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Beswicke throws a leg kick which misses Play's front leg but catches the back leg as Play tries to avoid it.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Play, right into the meat.
Beswicke scores with a sloppy right hand. Play should have avoided that one.
Play looks to score with a jab to the body but Beswicke is just out of range.
Beswicke needs to keep his hands up - Play had a free shot at his head there.
Beswicke blocks the body kick.
Nice cross by Beswicke.
Play connects with a solid leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Play throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Beswicke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Oh Play is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Play misses with a straight right.
Play seems to have got his legs back now.
Play throws out a leg kick but Beswicke moves out of range and Play only half commits.
Beswicke jabs Play right on the nose. Play blinks but takes it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Beswicke moves away from the strike by Play.
Play lands with a shot to the body.
Beswicke fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Play. Beswicke does a little dance to reset his feet.
Play pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Play cracks Beswicke with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Play throws a lazy head kick
and Beswicke counters with a good low kick that Play was not able to check.
Play is breathing heavily.
Beswicke takes one to the side of the head.
Beswicke checks a leg kick.
Play drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Beswicke cracks Play with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Play looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Beswicke finish him?
Beswicke cracks Play with a hook to the temple - Play is on wobbly legs here! Beswicke swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Play falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Beswicke wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Braylon Beswicke!
After the fight, Braylon Beswicke was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
