The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Pitakaka.
Pitakaka with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Pitakaka feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Samuels's calf.
Pitakaka throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Samuels blocks a head kick by Pitakaka.
Pitakaka plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Samuels moves out of range of the body kick from Pitakaka.
Samuels looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Pitakaka throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Samuels stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Pitakaka.

Pitakaka connects with a leg kick. Samuels looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Pitakaka lands a head kick. Samuels smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Pitakaka lands a big head kick that sends Samuels tumbling to the mat! Pitakaka takes a step backwards and waves Samuels back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Good leg kick by Pitakaka there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Pitakaka lands a big head kick that sends Samuels to the canvas! Pitakaka follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Elijah Pitakaka!
Elijah Pitakaka decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
