Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Poper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Etherton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Samuel Etherton was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samuel Etherton!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poper throws a leg kick but Etherton checks it.
Poper closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Etherton's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Etherton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Etherton has momentary wrist control but Poper slips an elbow through the middle.
Etherton working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Poper.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poper throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Poper throwing strikes from guard but Etherton blocks nicely.
Etherton being controlled here, momentarily.
Etherton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Poper knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Etherton on the ground.

Poper slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Samuel Etherton.

Etherton shoots in but no luck this time.
Poper closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Etherton quickly recovers to half guard.
Etherton is pressing down on Poper's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Etherton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Poper throws a big right hand that misses.
Poper throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Poper working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Etherton's head.

Poper lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Poper looking to sit in guard and control but Etherton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Poper scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Etherton is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Poper is looking to clinch.
Poper defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Etherton.
Rodney Poper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Poper throws a nice looking combination but Etherton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Poper misses with a combination
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Poper slaps away a takedown attempt from Etherton, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rodney Poper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samuel Etherton.
Etherton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Poper as he jumps to the side.
Etherton closes the distance and clinches up with Poper, looking for a takedown. Etherton pushes Poper against the cage but Poper circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Poper fails to land with a series of punches.
Etherton swats away the attempt to clinch by Poper.
Poper displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Etherton.
Etherton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Etherton looks winded!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Poper throws a right and a left that Etherton avoids nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rodney Poper dominated that round.

Poper throws a combination that misses
and Etherton counters with a leg kick.
Poper misses with a double jab.
Poper fails in his attempt to clinch.
Poper attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Etherton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Poper counters with a one-two to the body.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Etherton.
Oooooh!!! Poper has knocked Etherton down with a huge combo! Poper steps away and waves a wobbly Etherton back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Etherton is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Etherton fails with the takedown
and Poper counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Etherton falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rodney Poper!
